Candy CASology 117

Hi friends:
I had some extra time today and thought I would check out casology blogspot's weekly challenge.  The cue card is:

I love lollipops, especially the multicoloured ones.  The swirl of colours makes me wonder "How do they do that"?  I had remembered a tutorial from years ago on making lollipops with bakers twine.  So I went to work.  I even added a wrapper. Here's my card:

Hope you enjoy my take on this challenge.  Thanks for stopping by.  Trish

CAS Emboss It

Hi friends;
Wow what a crazy week I've had, but I found just enough time to get back into my crafty little space.  Challenge 44 - "Emboss It" from the online challenge blog:
I thought I would incorporate a couple of embossing techniques on my card...the first being "double heat embossing" and the second being "embossing with a die".  Love both of these techniques but somehow I don't use them enough.  So here's my card:

The tree stamp was stamped with versa mark ink.  Using a spoon I carefully put silver embossing powder on the top of the trees only.  I then covered the rest of the stamped image with bronze embossing powder.  The entire image was then heated with a heat tool.  The sentiment was stamped with versafine black ink.  I then ran the card through my cuttlebug with 2 Spellbinder's A2 Matting Basic dies and tan mat to emboss.  Hope you like my take on the challenge.

Thanks for stopping by.  Trish.

Splatter Casology 116

Hi friends
Playing along today with CASology weekly challenge.  I haven't played along for quite a long time, but thought this was a fun one.  The cue card for this week is:

I immediately thought of a brick wall with graffiti and paint splatters.... So this is my submission.

I stamped my sentiment with black ink and heat embossed with clear e/b powder.   The brick wall is a stencil from Crafter's Workshop.  I used several colors of distress ink with a blending tool for the bricks.  I also used a stencil for the splatters.  The sentiment is from Michael's $1.00 bin :)

Thanks for stopping by, Trish.

October Awareness

Hi blog friends;

I'm still on vacation and enjoying the extra time in my craft room and some online challenges.   So today I thought I would give this one a go -

The challenge is "Lift a Card".  So this is my take on the challenge.

October is breast cancer awareness month so I dedicate my card to all the survivors and their families and friends who have supported their fight and to all the unfortunate women (and men) who have lost their battle.  May a cure soon be found!

Thanks for stopping by, Trish.

Christmas Stripes

Hi there friends:
I am back again with a quick post.  I am on vacation this week and had some extra time to play along again with Merry Monday challenge blog.

This week the challenge is sooo out of my comfort zone you can't imagine.  Isn't this paper from Bobunny beautiful!  Those glittered snowflakes and swirls just make me swoon.  I see right past those stripes ....lol.

Of course my card wouldn't be complete without ribbon and a bow.  I used a MS snowflake punch and attached a couple of mini bells.  The sentiment is from Inkadinkadoo and the border die is from Impression Obsession.

Thanks for visiting, Trish.

Christmas Bingo

Hey there friends:

I found this blog by accident (love when that happens) and thought it would be fun to play along.  Merry Monday #127.

I recently watched the amazingly talented Sue Wilson create a gorgeous card using a black die cut on adhesive with gilding flakes.  So using Sue's inspiration and Kathy's Christmas Bingo challenge I came up with this card for the Merry Monday Challenge.  I chose diagonal -sparkle, ribbon, buttons/brads or it could fit - sparkle, die cut, red....see for yourself and decide. What a fun challenge.

Using black cardstock and new Memory Box Eliana background die I cut my background. It was adhered to 2-sided sticky tape and covered with gilding flakes.  I stamped my sentiment onto black ribbon with versamark and heat embossed with gold powder.  Using the largest poinsettia from the Memory Box Plush Poinsettia corner die and attached a brad. It is so shiny in person,  luv how it turned out.

Thanks for stopping by.

I'm Back

Hey there blog friends; oh wow how nice it is to be back.  I've been away from my blog and crafting due to some health issues.

So lets get down to business and sharing a couple of my recent projects.  Hope you enjoy them.

I love Memory Box dies - they are so versatile and produce stunning results with very little effort.  The following cards were made from the new holiday release "Plush Poinsettia Corner" die.

Thanks for visiting, hope to see you soon.
